Environments are part of the design
Development, review, and production should differ by data and secrets, not by surprise behavior.
Same shape
If production has a worker and development does not, you will discover the bug in production. Keep the processes, change the credentials.
Data
Development data should be synthetic or a carefully reduced copy. A laptop should not hold a full customer export.
Names
Name the environment in the logs. A stack trace without that name wastes the first ten minutes.
